"I have been loving refugees from many nations for the past 7 1/2 years." - Margie Randall
An Update from Margie, January 2016
Thank you so much for giving, going and most of all praying. Your prayers are being answered. We were truly blessed to be able to distribute over 300 gifts and share the Christmas story in various ways through 4 programs. My heart overflows with gratitude for all that the Lord did through the people who gave of their time and resources to make sure the children in two apartment complexes had a memorable Christmas.
We were blessed with a college team which came three days per week to interact with the children during their school break. One of those students went back to change her major so that she could be a missionary!! And a dear friend of mine also felt called to missions!! Praise God!
The English conversation groups are going well and the volunteers reported having fun with their students. The children's programs on Saturday and Sunday are also going well and I know the children are blessed. They have heard about Jesus and now the Holy Spirit has to water those seeds.
Personally, I have been blessed through your prayers for laborers for the harvest. I could not begin to do this ministry without the efforts of every volunteer. Thank you so much.
Each morning I pray through the Lord's prayer (Model prayer) and ask that His Kingdom come and His will be done in the apartment complexes where we have programs going. God has been faithful to answer those prayers. Here are some of the stories: As Sylvia shared a story from the Book, a Muslim lady proclaimed "He (Jesus) is God!. Two weeks ago I sat in worship with a Bhutanese teen. At the end of the service the invitation was given to come forward. To my amazement, the youth wanted to go forward and join the church. Then, on Thursday, I was prompted by a 5 year old Muslim girl to play the Jesus video so I did. I had to run an errand but when I returned almost one hour later, her mom was standing in front of the TV watching the Jesus movie in her language!! And then today a refugee from Colombia came for a visit. After a few minutes of conversation, he said "Mom (my name there) I want to go to church with you".
There has been much debate in the news about refugees I have been loving refugees from many nations for the past 7 1/2 years and have learned so much. Mainly I have learned how blessed the American people are and how blessed the church is here. Should the church be involved in reaching the nations that God has brought to this city? Each person has to decide for him self, but keep in mind that Paul was a murderer of Christians and Joseph was a refugee to Egypt.
The Muslim lady who watched the Jesus video (glued to the screen) was an antagonist. Could she be an apostle Paul? At Christmas, I watched many people from various religions come for a Christmas program at a local church. It would be too dangerous for me to go to church with them in their country (if there was a church). Tomorrow (Lord willing) two refugees from two different countries will attend worship services and hear the Word.
Please join me in praying for more laborers for the harvest. Have a blessed Christmas. His grace really is sufficient.
