¿Qué piensa usted de la iglesia?
El conceptos que a veces se tiene de la iglesia es muy parecido a la historia del niño que le regalaron su primera bicicleta para navidad. Pero como era invierno, la guardó en el garaje hasta la primavera. Cuando finalmente llegó la primavera, sacó su bicicleta, camino hasta un un estacionamiento, cuando intento montar la bicicleta por primera vez, se sintió muy frustrado, porque le fue muy difícil aprender a montarla. Finalmente logró montarla, pero la bicicleta no avanzaba, así que se dio por vencido y regresó a su casa desilusionado.
Igual que este niño, tenemos hermosos pensamientos sobre lo que es o podría ser la iglesia, pero a través de diferentes experiencias frustrantes, desarrollamos un concepto que se parece más a un club social, que a la asamblea sobrenatural de creyentes llenos del Espíritu Santo. El esfuerzo que tomaba aprender a montar la bicicleta llevó al niño a abandonarla, lo que él nunca se dio cuenta es que el verdadero problema era que las llantas de la bicicleta perdieron el aire.
No podemos ser iglesia sin el Espíritu Santo.
El poder de la iglesia radica en su misión. La Iglesia no es plan ‘B’ de Dios para la redención del mundo. El la planeó en la eternidad, provista por la muerte y resurrección de Jesús. Y el día de pentecostés nació la iglesia llena del poder del Espíritu Santo (Hechos 1:8).
Jesús en su famosa conversación con pedro dijo: Yo te digo que tú eres Pedro, y sobre esta piedra edificaré mi iglesia, y las puertas del reino de la muerte no prevalecerán contra ella (Mateo 16:18). Eso significa que la iglesia no es meramente una institución sin fines de lucro o un grupo de personas reunidas para celebrar actos litúrgicos y religiosos. Sino que es la respuesta de sobrenatural de Dios para un mundo que se pierde sin Dios. De este pasaje podemos discernir 3 cosas:
1. La Iglesia pertenece a Cristo: “Yo edificaré mi Iglesia.”
Jesús es dueño de la Iglesia. El la creó, y le pertenece a El. El se dio a sí mismo para morir en la cruz por ella, Él la compró con su propia sangre y la llama a continuar su misión. Cada uno de de los que formamos SU iglesia somos llamados a entrar en mision con Jesús.
2. Jesús edifica Su Iglesia a través de nosotros: “sobre esta piedra edificaré mi iglesia.”
El edificar la Iglesia es la misión principal de Jesús en la tierra hoy en día. Jesús usa hombres nacidos de nuevo como su material de edificación. Jesús está constantemente llamando a líderes, dotándolos con dones para equipar a SU pueblo para edificar a SU Iglesia. Si empezamos a abrir los ojos en la fe, podemos ver a Dios equipamiento su iglesia.
3. La Iglesia será vencedora: “las puertas del Hades no prevalecerán contra ella.”
Esta frase llena de significado, y es la base para la obra sobrenatural de todos los que formamos parte de su Iglesia. Dice que Cristo está construyendo Su Iglesia como una fuerza militar para poseer las puertas del Infierno y ser victoriosos sobre el poder del mal.
Cristo en su gloria quiere vivir a través de las vidas de cada uno de los miembros individuales de su iglesia. Cuando la iglesia comienza a entender esto, se detienen sus críticas y como resultado la iglesia puede hacer el la obra sobrenatural de Dios, tal como lo hizo Cristo.

A Supernatural Church
What do you think of the church?
Many look at the church like the child who got his first bicycle for Christmas. Since it was winter, he kept it in the garage until spring. When spring finally arrived, he took out his bicycle and walked to a parking lot. After trying to ride the bicycle for the first time, he felt very frustrated because it was more difficult than he expected. He finally managed to ride it, but the bicycle wouldn't work for him. He eventually gave up and returned to his house disappointed.
Like this child, we have rich expectations of what the church is or could be, but through different frustrating experiences, we develop a concept that looks more like a social club than a supernatural assembly of believers filled with the Holy Spirit. Like the child with the bike, the frustrating amount of effort required may cause us to abandon our attempts. What the child never realized, though, is that the real problem was that the tires of his bicycle had lost their air.
Likewise, we can not be a church without the Holy Spirit.
The power of the church lies in its mission. The Church is not "plan B" for God's redemption of the world. He planned it in eternity and provided for it by the death and resurrection of Jesus. And on the day of Pentecost, the church was born and filled with the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1: 8).
In his famous conversation with Peter, Jesus said, "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it" (Matthew 16:18). That means that the church is not merely a non-profit institution or a group of people gathered to celebrate liturgical and religious events. Instead, it is God's supernatural response to a world that is lost without God. From this passage we can discern 3 things:
1. The Church belongs to Christ: "I will build my Church."
Jesus owns the Church. He created it, and it belongs to him. He gave himself to die on the cross for it. Jesus bought the Church with his own blood and calls it to continue his mission. Each one of us who form his Church have been called to enter mission with Jesus.
2. Jesus builds His Church through us: "on this rock I will build my Church."
Building the Church is the main mission of Jesus on earth today. Jesus uses born-again men and women as his building material. He is constantly calling leaders and equipping them with gifts to equip his people to build his Church. If we begin to open our eyes in faith, we can see God equipping his church.
3. The Church will be victorious: "the gates of Hades will not prevail against her."
This power-packed phrase is the basis for the supernatural work of all who are part of God's Church. Jesus says that he is building his Church as a military force to overthrow the gates of Hell and to be victorious over the power of evil.
Christ in his glory wants to live through the lives of each individual member of his church. When the church begins to understand this, its criticisms are stopped and, as a result, the church can do the supernatural work of God just as Christ did.
