November Prayer Guide

Give thanks for the volunteers who serve UBA on a weekly basis and especially for the life of Joanne Holt who passed away on October 23 after serving UBA for over 25 years with her husband Ron. 

Say a special prayer of thanksgiving for ministries such as Loving Houston that position churches to serve children in need through their neighborhood schools.

November is National Adoption Month. Give thanks for loving families that come in all shapes, sizes, and manners of being. Give thanks for ministries such as Buckner Baptist Benevolences and STCH that provide for children in need and help them find forever families.

Veterans Day offers us the opportunity to give thanks for the freedoms that we have and for those who have served and continue to serve to protect those freedoms. 

Give thanks for the faithful and long-standing ministry of the UBA Mission Centers of Houston which continues to serve families in the inner city of Houston.

Give thanks to the Lord, proclaim his greatness; tell the nations what he has done. (I Chronicles 16:8, GNT)

Give thanks that as believers we belong to “the Alpha and the Omega, who is an who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8, NASB)


Be thankful that whether we are in want or in plenty, we are secure in our position in Christ. Give thanks for ministries such as The Off Ramp who faithfully minister to those who are in want.

Give thanks for the firm foundation that you have in Christ. Give thanks for ministries such as Houston Responds who continue to help families rebuild their homes after devastating floods.

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. (Psalm 107:1, NLT)

Give thanks for congregations gathered for worship and praise and for the blessing of living in a nation where we can gather unafraid.

Give thanks that as children of God, we have the opportunity and the responsibility to be ambassadors for Christ bearing witness to the reconciliation that is possible through Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Give thanks that the smallest child is precious to God. Pray that all churches everywhere will implement procedures to provide and maintain safe and secure environments for everyone. The Ministry Safe training on December 3 at Houston’s First Baptist Church can help equip your church to deal effectively with safety issues for children.

Give thanks for the abundance of food that your family has. Give thanks for ministries such as the Christian Life Commission Hunger Offering that makes it possible for us to share our abundance with those who lack.

Give thanks for something—every day.
