Let’s Serve Our City Better This Post-Easter Season

We often talk of churches as lighthouses in their communities and underscore the importance of working together with strategic community outreach. Here’s one upcoming way to do both!

Join believers around the city collaborating to impact their community for Christ through Serve HTX. This larger city movement seeks to create flourishing communities across Greater Houston.

April 21 - May 17

Building upon other similar past initiatives, Serve HTX aims to help churches, non-profits, businesses, and civic leaders work together for the flourishing of our communities.

It’s a city-wide collaboration for community outreach the four weeks following Easter (April 21 - May 17).

How it Helps:

Serve HTX provides a catalyst for churches to:

  • Develop or expand their outreach ministry

  • Cultivate new and existing partnerships

  • Make their service more broadly known in the community

  • Show Christian unity as we unite around the common goal of sharing God's love with our city.

How it Works:

Churches and their partners offer volunteer projects that bless their community, which are posted online and accessed through the Serve HTX web page.

There, volunteers can select a project and sign up to serve. Project leaders are able to manage these projects.

How We Help:

Houston Responds will help project leaders to:

  • Identify and develop meaningful projects

  • Identify and work with new or existing partner

  • Make use of the ServeHTX website

  • Communicate the opportunity to potential volunteers

  • Capture and share project stories

  • Be part of a larger city movement seeking the flourishing of our communities.

To suggest a project, go to www.servehtx.org, click "Suggest a Project," complete the brief form, and Serve HTX be in touch with you soon!
